Old streets.
An open horizon.
Spend the morning in Nantou’s old town, linger over lunch, then cross to Talent Park for an afternoon on the bay.
Self-guided itinerary

Route outline below.
THE KIND OF DAY
Nantou to the Bay
A day for people who like to read a city through its buildings. Look closely at gates and shopfronts in the morning, then trade narrow streets for a wide view across the water.
Allow a full day if you like to linger. The suggested pace includes lunch and the journey between stops.
A PROPOSED SEQUENCE
One place
leads to another.
6–8 hours from the first stop to the last. The lower times give you a shorter day. The upper times leave room to explore. Walking between stops, lunch and breaks are already counted.
- 01
Nantou Ancient City Museum
南头古城博物馆
Start with the local-history displays. Pick out a map or building detail to look for later in the streets.
60–90 minutes - 02
South Gate and the old streets
南城门 · 中山南街 · 中山西街
Walk from the gate along Zhongshan South Street, turning onto Zhongshan West Street. Pause at the shopfronts and compare the newer façades with the older buildings.
75–105 minutes - 03
Lunch in Nantou
南头古城内用餐
Choose a restaurant in the lanes before leaving the old town. Allow time for a seated lunch and a look through the menu.
60–75 minutes - 04
Ride to Talent Park
前往深圳人才公园
Find a public pickup point and take a taxi or ride-hailing car to the park. This allowance includes the wait as well as the ride.
45–60 minutes - 05
Walk through Talent Park
深圳人才公园
Take a short park loop, stopping to look back at the Nanshan skyline. Choose a place to sit before joining the waterfront.
60–75 minutes - 06
Finish by Shenzhen Bay
深圳湾滨海休闲带
Follow the path beside the bay for as long as the weather suits you. Leave part of this block for a drink, photos and the walk out.
60–75 minutes
Getting between places
Nantou and Talent Park are separate stops connected by a self-paid car ride. Traffic can take longer than the allowance. If it does, shorten the waterfront walk. A metro trip needs its own time estimate.
BEFORE CHOOSING A DAY
Opening days
and the weather.
What needs checking
Check the museum’s current opening and last-admission notices for your date, especially on Mondays and public holidays.
If plans need to change
For ordinary rain, consider a shorter Nantou-only version using confirmed indoor stops and a break. This changes the route and removes the bay transfer. Avoid waterfront activity in severe weather.
PLANNING YOUR VISIT
What to plan for.
- An old-town museum visit and walking route through the lanes
- Time for a meal before the ride across Nanshan
- A park loop and a separate waterfront walk
Costs and arrangements
Budget for the ride to Talent Park as well as lunch, drinks and any ticketed exhibits. Choose a public pickup point and check the fare yourself.
